I'm not very fond of pop music, but for some reason Pillow Talk has been growing on me. I finally watched the video today-it's one of the most beautiful synesthesian experiences I've had from a music video-It is a little NSFW (Mature Content). It's almost perfect as far as a music video goes in my book. I really like aesthetics that work together in media, and this one just did it perfectly.
Now, I was super bored this morning, so I was casually going down the internet rabbit hole and finding funny videos. This one took the cake. Two brothers decided to torment their sister and tell her they were in a zombie apocalypse after she had her wisdom teeth out and she was still high as a kite. She reacted quite well. I firmly believe she would have outlasted her brothers considering they kept trying to give her silly props to protect herself and she was like, where are the guns? Why do you keep loading garden equipment in the back of the car? Leave the dog and take the cat, he's already dying anyways. Priceless.
I'm still doing Camp Nano-I dropped my word count the other day to 25,000 though. I was super excited about this project but now that I'm working on it I feel, bland. I've been trying to listen to music, read, and watch stuff that I thought might help but I'm still kind of melancholic about it. Last night was good with a steady 1600 words though. Sometimes it just takes introducing the character you've been thinking about to get the juices flowing.
The more involved I get in group and in learning the craft, the scarier this gets. You have to lay yourself out there or nothing is going to happen. The thing about writing is that most of the time your stuff isn't perfect, so it's always going to be criticized at first. It takes learning to expect and appreciate the corrections in order to move forward. No writer is really as confident as they seem, I guarantee you. And the thing is, they wouldn't be writers if they were. Writers are a big mess of emotion, analytical thinking, and creativeness. Most of the time they are at odds with one another. That's why we go crazy. That's why a lot of us don't really like people that much. Books are where it's at.
